I’m taking out the trash, walking my doggies, taking cold plunges, or whatever, and a to-do pops into my head — something like “Call the windows guy to fix the window at rental or home.”
Do not tell yourself you’ll keep it in mind and get to it later — I promise you won’t.
Your mind will already have moved on to the next thing.
Write down the task as soon as it pops up in your mind.
I write it down on Keep (Google app) or on a sticky note.
